"Black, Brown, & Yellow" is a blog that I have created that discusses topics that you may or may not find "blog worthy". The title "Black, Brown, & Yellow" is a reflection of the way that the African-American society classifies African-American women. However, the topics being discussed will not only focus on society or politics but will vary from fashion, books, reality shows, to music. Enjoy my thoughts...

MTV's "World's Strictest Parents"
So it's a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I'm watching MTV. "World's Strictest Parents" are on. I've never watched this show before. These are the kinds of shows that I wish I was on when I was a teenager. This lady on the show is telling these bad ass kids they can't have a cell phone in the year 2009. They are like 16 17! Is she trying to punish them, or cut them off from society completely!? My rebellious ass would have had her and her husband on edge the whole time. She would have had to hire the New Orleans Saints to tackle my black ass for my cell phone!!! Lol.

MTV & TO...
ReplyDeleteI WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME THING..TAKING A CELL PHONE EXTREMELY TAKE'S YOU OUT SOCIETY.I COULDN'T DO IT AT ALL.
ReplyDeleteHI,
ReplyDeleteI think the show World's Strictest Parents on MTV is a good thing. They send these kids into a completely different environment than what they are used to and it is a complete shock to them that people can actually live this way. Because their own Parent's have failed to teach them the right way to act in Society!! Taking away their cell phone is nothing compared to some of the other tactics these intelligent, caring individuals have had to use to show these ungrateful teenagers that it's not all about them!! They show them how to care about other people in need. How working hard for something pays off when you've completed the job!! I could go on but I think if you watch this show more than once, you'll see that it actually is a good thing and there are so many kids out there that just need someone to care about them enough to help guide them onto the right path of respect and gratitude for what they have. It also helps them to reconnect with there Parents which is awesome because so many kids go through this when they turn into teenagers. They think they have to be all grown up and that Mom & Dad don't know anything and they know everything about life!! But when they realize that it's not all fun and games out there in the real world...Mom & Dad don't seem so bad anymore!!
