I always tell people that if you cried every time you disappointed someone you would die of dehydration. People are naturally selfish. A wise woman once told me that every good deed is done selfishly. Now, we can debate on how true this is all day long but, the fact of the matter is, people hold on to disappointments more than anything else. People always want to be treated with respect and honesty, but rarely ever return it. Yes, it is true that you'll find some exceptions but as a whole people are selfish.
What about the people that are always around when your at your worst? You know the people I'm taking about...the ones that are never around in your time of satisfaction and sublime. These people always manage to find their way in your life when you'd rather be alone. These people have one goal! That goal is to infect you with their negativity and cynical remarks.
Once you make it clear that you'd rather be alone they go off on this long tangent. This tangent digresses away form the main character in this situation, YOU! (If I'm losing you try to stay with me) They make it clear that you have hurt their feelings. They accuse you of being selfish and self-indulgent. They try to make themselves the victim. So now you're feeling unsettled, stressed, and guilty. Why? You don't even know. But these feelings are as strong as a five hour energy drink mixed with a triple shot of Starbucks espresso.
At this point this is where my quote comes in, "If you were to cry every time you disappointed someone, you'd die of dehydration." No matter what you do people will hold on to what they choose to. Call it selective memory if you will, but you make you, and you brake you. People are merely around to watch you crumble and fade away. Sadly, they've already done what they so desperately wish on you.
As for me I get a kick out of watching people make themselves misreable. Life is too short and I look tooo good....
Until next time friends...
